REPURPOSED SKINS

Civic Outdoor has a dedicated recycling program to repurpose the vinyl skins used for billboard campaigns. This includes the creation of eco-friendly products such as bags, the use of skins on farms, and donating skins to weather affected areas.

RECYCLED MATERIALS

Our engineered billboard structures are not only manufactured in Australia and fabricated from 100% Australian steel, each of our billboard’s primary structural columns is sustainably sourced from recycled gas pipelines.

ENERGY EFFICIENT SCREENS

Our digital screen brightness is typically reduced during night-time hours by sensors that measure ambient light, and where possible our sites integrate solar panels to further reduce our energy usage and its environmental impact.

ON THE ROAD TO SUSTAINABILITY

By its very nature outdoor media promotes meaningful and positive community relations while significantly reducing environmental impact.

To reduce our carbon footprint further, we focus on two carbon-intensive areas associated with out-of-home advertising: the energy used to operate assets and the waste of materials linked with running campaigns. Our classic billboards use 100% eco-friendly LED lighting, and our digital screens run dynamically – at just 2% power capacity during low-light hours.

Our pledge is for all power consumed by our billboards to be carbon neutral by the end of 2023.
